Issue 1.2

Centralized Alarm Printing

With INM Broadband Release 4.1, Centralized Alarm Printing (CAP) is
introduced. This feature provides the capability to enable / disable the output,
to a printer, of alarm logs for all raising and clearing alarms, as they occur.

If the CAP is enabled, the raised and the cleared alarm logs are recorded to the
CAP log queue; and, when the chosen queue size has been reached, these logs
are printed to a selected printer, ordered by time and date.

Centralized Alarm Printing Tool

By default, Centralized Alarm Printing is disabled. It can be enabled using the
CAP Tool (“cap_tool”), shown in Figure 19.

Note: The root user is the only one who has access to the CAP Tool, and
who can enable / disable the CAP, or modify its settings.
