User Interface Enhancements

The INM Broadband user interface accommodates the TMN
(Telecommunications Management Network) menu structure which
standardizes the menus and dialogs into functional groupings. The Multiple
Independent Views, Variably Sized Nodes and NE Type Symbol/Label
features enhance the graphical display of very large networks. The operation
and surveillance of the network is facilitated by providing Annotations,
Background Maps and Real-Time Shelf Level Alarms.

Partitioned Access - Using the GNE, the INM user can choose to tailor the set
of SOC included in each view, to selectively exclude network elements from
each view, to “lock” a group (hiding its contents from GNB users), to control
the set of users which have access to each view, to filter the alarms displayed
for each network element in a view and to control operations available on
specific network elements in a view.

Multiple Independent Views - will facilitate support for very large networks, by
allowing users to display their network in different fashions, and then be able
to switch between these views for displaying.

Variably Sized Nodes - allows users the ability to resize NE icons upon request
or in response to alarm events in the network, thereby improving the graphical
display of very large networks. NE icons can be sized as large, small, or
variable, each having its own specifications.
