Express Network Element, the remote inventory of the EIM card is also
added.

Shelf Level Graphics: INM Broadband Release 4.1, in conjunction with the
MOA Release 3.1, supports shelf level graphics for the Express CX circuit
packs as well as the EIM card on the Express Data Release 3.1 and 4.0
Network Elements.
Connection Management
INM Broadband 4.1 provides the support of provisioning both STS and VT
rate connections on Nortel Express Data Release 3.1 and 4.0 as well as Express
CX TransportNode Network Elements through the nodal provisioning
interface that has been introduced in INM 3.1.
The connection provisioning functionality is invoked from the network
element or the subnetwork window of the GNB. To begin connection
provisioning, the user will choose a node on which to provision the connection
and then open up the Connection Manager. A list of the currently provisioned
connections is displayed, as seen in Figure 33 on page 94.
For the Express CX NE, a nodal STS or VT connection, consisting of a single
cross-connect, can be created by specifying the Access Identifiers (AID), the
connection rate, and the type of connection for the particular node. As for the
OC3 Express Data Release 3.1 and 4.0 EIM card, a nodal VT connection for
an EIM circuit pack, consisting of a single cross-connect, can be provisioned
as any VT connection. Specifying the AIDs, the connection rate and the type
of connection is done the same way as for the Express CX Network Element.
The Connection Manager dialog provides the following information
•
Access Identifiers (AID)
OC-3 Express Release 3.1 and 4.0 support connection management
connectivity with the DS1, DS3, EC-1, OC-3 and EIM interface cards.
The user will have the ability to construct the source or destination
AID for a connection on an EIM circuit pack by specifying the facility
(EIM), slot number, port number (either bridge one or two), VT group
(Port number 1-8) and VT number (DS1 connection point).
As for the Express CX, it supports connection management connectiv-
ity with the DS1, DS3, EC-1, OC-3 and MTX
1
interface cards. The
information required for an AID may either be typed in by the user or
entered using data selectors. In either case, the user has the ability to
construct the AID from the components of facility, slot number, and
port number. Additionally, the VT Group and VT Number can be
1
The MTX circuit pack supports both DS-1 and OC-3 facilities.
