Protection Control

INM Broadband Release 4.1 provides the user the capability to perform
protection and lockout commands from within the GNB traffic objects. This
feature will apply to the Linear configurations mentioned before as well as to
the Ring configurations. Protection control is the ability to issue high speed
protection commands from the GNB such as: Operate/Release Forced Switch,
Operate/Release Manual Switch, Operate/Release Lockout of Working,
Operate/Release Lockout of Protection

For 4 Fiber Rings (OC-192), protection control commands are available as span or ring flavors except for

lockout of protection which only applies to span switches.
