Integrated Network Management Broadband Release 4.1

Issue 1.2

•

Modify the HP-UX kernel parameters as required (refer to HP-UX System
Administration Tasks manual for this procedure). This procedure verifies
the setup of the HP-UX kernel parameters described in Operating System
Parameters on page 174.

If the workstation is not purchased from Nortel, the operating system would
require custom configuration. The following tasks must be performed before
installing the software:

•

connect the workstation to the local area network (LAN).

•

ensure the workstation is running HP-UX 10.20 ACE (ACE 2 for the C200,
ACE 1 otherwise).

•

ensure the workstation setup complies with the requirements described in
Workstation setup summary on page 172.

•

Configure HP-UX 10.20 ACE according to the requirements for INM
Broadband Release 4.1 (refer to HP-UX System Administration Tasks
manual for this procedure).

•

Modify the HP-UX kernel parameters as required (refer to HP-UX System
Administration Tasks manual for this procedure). This procedure verifies
the setup of the HP-UX kernel parameters described in Operating System
Parameters on page 174.

Upgrade

Figure 48 on page 171 summarizes the tasks required to upgrade INM
Broadband Release 4.1.
