The graphical model used to represent a fiber span between adjacent ADMs in
the BLSR allows a color blind user to distinguish the different traffic states
without any loss of information. For example, using Figure 40 on page 104 , a
user can interpret the traffic state between ADMs by observing the graphic and
shading used between ADMs.
Centralized Performance Monitoring
Centralized performance monitoring provides first alert capabilities for
Performance Monitoring (PM) threshold crossing and performance statistic
displays. This centralized facility provides the customer with a consolidated
view of network element PM and protection-switching statistics from the
Graphical Network Browser (GNB).
INM Broadband displays a PM threshold crossing indicator on groups and
NEs that have active PM threshold crossing alarms, shown in Figure 41 on
page 106 . On groups, the threshold crossing indicator identifies that a network
element in the group has raised an alarm because of a threshold crossing. On
network elements, the threshold crossing indicator identifies the specific
network element on which the threshold was crossed.
The INM Broadband can display threshold crossing when the threshold
crossings are provisioned as alarms.
Detailed information about the threshold crossing can be obtained by selecting
the Show Alarms command from a group or network element on which a
threshold crossing indicator appears, or by double clicking on the alarm
balloon.
The INM Broadband is able to access all of the performance statistics stored
on the OPC. Performance statistics are maintained on a per facility basis for
part of the different parts of the transmission path (section, line and path).
