INM Broadband HP Workstation & X Terminal Ordering
Northern Telecom is pleased to offer the purchase of the HP workstation as
well as the X Terminal as part of the INM Broadband software purchase. This
is an optional offering as the HP workstation and X Terminal can always be
purchased directly from HP or from a HP distributor. INM Broadband
recommended hardware platforms are the HP 9000 Model C200 workstation
and the HP 9000 Model B132L+ workstation. The INM200 workstation from
Northern Telecom is also optimized to grow with your business. Arriving with
256 MB of RAM and 4GB of storage, the workstations are ready to support
our range of products and features. The recommended X-Terminal is the HP
Entria II.
The HP 9000 Model C200 workstation (INM200) can be ordered from
Northern Telecom using the NTZH91WX ordering code and the HP 9000
Model B132L+ workstation (INM132) using the NTZH91WW ordering code.
The HP Entria II X Terminal (INM_X) can be ordered from Northern Telecom
using the NTZH91WY ordering code.
Refer to the “Hardware Requirements” on page 163 for more information on
the HP 9000 Model C200 and B132L+ workstation hardware requirements for
INM Broadband Release 4.1.
There are, however, some additional services offered if the HP workstation is
ordered through Northern Telecom. These services are listed below:
• Ordering of the workstation and X Terminal is simplified. Ordering directly
from HP requires a translation of the INM Broadband hardware
specification to HP order codes for the various hardware, software and
support piece parts. Northern Telecom has standardized on a set of piece
parts and provides a single order code, INM200 or INM132, for customers
to use when placing orders for the required workstation. The single order
code INM_X can be used when placing orders for the required X Terminal.
• Pre-assembly of the Workstation and X Terminal. Since HP ordering is
done based on piece parts, the delivered product will also arrive in parts
and will require assembling and some custom configuration. Some
workstation configurations & UNIX knowledge may also be required.
When ordered through Northern Telecom, the workstation will arrive
pre-assembled and ready for installation of INM Broadband software. The
HP-UX operating system software required by the INM Broadband will be
pre-installed and proper memory (SWAP) configurations will also have
been pre-configured. When ordering the X Terminal through Northern
Telecom, the X Terminal will arrive pre-assembled and pre-loaded with the
required memory. Some patches may be necessary directly from HP.
• Single Point of Support. Support of the C200 or B132L+ workstation as
well as the HP Entria II X-Terminal will be bundled into the maintenance
