Cabling Wake on LAN
Your system can be configured for “Wake on LAN” if you
have one of the following:
3COM 3C905B-TX-W LAN board
Intel EtherExpress PRO 100 LAN board.
Your system can be readied for “Wake on LAN” by
connecting the Wake on LAN cable. Wake on LAN allows
your system to be powered up remotely by the server
computer.
To cable the system for Wake on LAN do the following:
1.
Connect one end of the Wake on LAN cable to the J6D1
connector on the system board.
2.
Connect the other end of the cable to the P3 connector
on the Intel EtherExpress PRO 100 LAN board, or to
the Wake on LAN header on the 3COM 3C905B-TX-W
board.
See “The BIOS Setup Utility” for information on
configuring your system for Wake on LAN. See your
system administrator if you have questions about your
network configuration.
Removing an Expansion Board
To remove an expansion board, perform the following
steps:
1.
Remove the left cover of the system unit (see “Removing
the Covers”).
2.
Remove the drive cage (see “Removing the Drive
Cage”).
3.
Label and remove any cables connected to the expansion
board.
