1-16 Introducing Your Computer

Audio connectors

Printer port
Use this port to connect a parallel printer with a 25-pin
connector to the system.

Serial ports
Attach a serial device with a 9-pin connector to either
serial port. Serial devices include a pointing device,
serial printer, or a modem. (Depending on the options in
your system, serial port 2 may be disabled; enable it
using the BIOS Setup utility to use both serial ports.)

Keyboard port
Attach the keyboard that comes with your computer to
the keyboard port.

The keyboard port supports a PS/2

®

-compatible,

101-key or 104-key keyboard (in the U.S. and Canada)
or a 102-key keyboard (in the United Kingdom and
Germany) with a 6-pin mini DIN connector.
