disable stpd <spanning tree name> rapid-root-failover
Description
Disables rapid root failover for STP recovery times.

Usage Guidelines
This command is used if there is a link failure. The port that is in FORWARDING state moves to
BLOCKING state, and it may take a long time to recover. If the port is a root port, it needs to recover
quickly, and this command is used for that purpose.
To view the status of rapid root failover on the switch, use the
show stpd
command. The
show stpd
command displays information about the STPD configuration on the switch, including the
enable/disable state for rapid root failover. To enable or re-enable rapid root failover for STP recovery
times, use the
enable stpd <spanning tree name> rapid-root-failover
command.
Example
The following command disables rapid root fail over on STPD Backbone_st:
disable stpd backbone_st rapid-root-failover
History
This command was first available in ExtremeWare 6.2.
This command was added to the Summit “ e ” series of switches ExtremeWare 7.2e.
Platform Availability
This command is available on all platforms.
