1 This SNMP trap group is only available on the “i” series of switches.
To view the SNMP trap receivers configured on the switch, use the
show management
command. The
show management
command displays information about the switch including the destination and
community of the SNMP trap receivers configured on the switch.
To restore defaults to all SNMP-related entries, including the SNMP parameters modified using the
configure snmp add trapreceiver
command, use the
unconfigure management
command.
For version 7.1 and higher:
• Only the trap groups specified will be sent to the receiver.
ExtremeWare 7.1 introduced support for SNMPv3, and the concept of trap groups was added to
allow SNMPv1/v2c users to access a simplified version of the capabilities of SNMPv3. ExtremeWare
7.2e added the same function for the Summit “
e ” series of switches. The trap groups are pre-defined
and cannot be modified. See chapter 3, “Managing the Switch”, in the ExtremeWare User Guide for
more detail about trap groups.
For version 6.0 and higher:
• A maximum of sixteen trap receivers can be configured for each switch.
For version 4.x:
• A maximum of six trap receivers can be configured for each switch.
