Editing Video

Change the effect category.

In the Effect palette, click the drop-down button (the down-pointing triangle), and

from the list of effect categories, choose “Transition FX.”

Drag the icon.

Use the mouse to drag the icon (symbol) for an effect in the Effect palette to the

location of the cut point (the border between two pieces of material) on the Effect

track. In this example we’ll use a dissolve.

Display the Effect Editor.

Double-click the icon for an available transition effect (Transition FX). The window

for making effect settings (the Effect Editor) appears.

Adjust the length.

You can adjust the length of an effect. You change the number displayed for

“Transition duration (frames)” at the lower right of the window. The default values

for various transition effects are as follows.
