Other Features

During editing, if symptoms of a system hang or lockup should occur (the mouse

pointer doesn't move and buttons don't respond when clicked), use the procedure

described below to restart the system. After restarting, the backup feature described

below lets you restore the state in effect just before.

•

Hold down the power button for about five seconds to switch off the power, then

press the power button a second time.

•

Unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet, plug it in again, then press the

power button.

After an abnormal shutdown, when you start the DV-7DL PRO and open the project

you were editing, the backup feature displays a window like the one shown below.

Clicking the "Backup" button opens the project in the same state it was in right before

the problem occurred.

Clicking "Saved State" lets you open the project in the state it was in when you last used

"Save."

The backup feature is intended for use only in the event of an emergency. Normally, you

should use

Saving by Overwriting
