Creating Material

Display the window for setting the effect.

 

Go to the bottom of the Detail View window and click the “Material” button. From 

 

the list that appears, select the effect you want to apply. Alternatively, go to the 

 

Material palette and right-click the video material to display the list and make your 

 

selection.

 

You can also perform this operation by going to the Material menu and selecting 

 

“Create Video FX,” then when the list appears, selecting the effect you want to apply.

Make the settings for the effect.

 

A window appears. Here you can make settings to control how the effect is applied. 

 

Make the settings, then click the “OK” button. For more information about the 

 

settings for the different effects, refer to page 254 - 259 on the settings for each effect.

 

Clicking “OK” displays a progress window for the creation of the new material. 

 

When creation ends, this window disappears.

Confirm the action.

 

New video material with the effect is created and registered in the Material palette 

 

at the location following the selected material (the source material). Double-click it 

 

to display the Detail View window, then play it back to verify it. Also, because it 

 

looks like there are two icons for the same material side by side, it is a good idea to 

 

change the name.

You can use the “Material” button in the Detail View window only when you have 
displayed the Detail View window by double-clicking material in the Material 
palette. 

Note:When the Detail View window has been displayed by double-clicking material 
placed on the Timeline Palette or the Storyboard Palette, no “Material” button 
appears in the Detail View window.
