Performing Detailed Editing on the Timeline Palette

DV Auto Split automatically splits material at the recording start point, but you can

split material placed on the Timeline at any location you want. Using this feature lets

you eliminate the scenes you don’t want to view from a sequence.

Select the material.

Click to select the material you want to split.

Move the position bar to the split location.

While watching the video displayed on the television monitor, line up the position

bar with the location you want.

Click “Split.”

Click the “Split” button. The material is split into two pieces, one following the other.
