Performing Detailed Editing on the Timeline Palette

This feature moves the "seam" between two pieces of material without changing the

overall length of the sequence.

You should use this when, after finishing editing, you want to shift the timing at

which cuts occur.

Move the pointer to the seam of the cut, then press the "Shift" key.

The shape of the pointer changes to a "

While holding down the "Shift" key, drag the mouse.

Make sure the shape of the pointer is a "

," then drag the mouse. This lets you

move the seam for the cut.

The range within which you can perform rolling is dependent on the length of the material

before and after the seam.
