Editing Audio

You can lower the volume level of just one particular passage by applying a fade in

or fade out. For instance, you can use this to lower the volume level of background

music in just one passage to make the synchronized audio for video more prominent.

Set multiple level points.

The procedure is the same as for a fade in or fade out, but you repeat steps 2 and 3

in the previous section several times to set a number of green points (audio level

points).

Drag the Volume Line.

Like lowering the overall volume level, you can change the volume of a passage by

dragging the Volume Line at a location between the two level points for the passage.

Drag the level points.

Like a fade in or fade out, you can make the setting for a change in volume

referenced to level points by dragging the corresponding level points up or down.

When applying a volume change, be careful to ensure that the audio level meter at the lower

left of the window does not max out during playback. It is a good idea to keep it averaged

around -12 dB.
