Chapter 11      Routing Management

IS-IS Management Window

Redistribution Tab

The Redistribution tab of the IS-IS Management dialog consists of a single area, Redistribution Table. 
In addition to this area, the following subarea is available: Edit Redistribution Table.

The Redistribution Table area describes the route redistribution configuration of an IS-IS routing 
process.

•

Protocol—Source routing protocol from which routes are learned and redistributed into the IS-IS 
area.

•

Source ID—This identifies the routing process.

–

BGP—An autonomous system number, which is a 16-bit decimal number.

–

EIGRP—Same as BGP.

–

OSPF—An appropriate OSPF process ID from which routes are to be redistributed. This value 
takes the form of a non-zero decimal number.

•

Metric—IS-IS metric used for the redistributed route.

Edit Redistribution Table 

This area allows changes to be made to the attributes shown in the Redistribution Table. These attributes 
are discussed in detail in the 

Redistribution Tab

 description.

The Edit Redistribution Table area of the C6576M IS-IS window allows you to enable or disable route 
redistribution from another IP routing process into the IS-IS area. The following parameters must be 
given:

•

Protocol

•

Source ID

•

Metric

•

Add Redistribute—Enables route redistribution from another IP routing process into the IS-IS 
routing domain.

Note

Explicit route redistribution from another IS-IS process is not allowed, however, routes may be 
learned from a BGP, EIGRP, or OSPF routing process.

•

Delete Redistribute—Disables route redistribution from another IP routing process into the IS-IS 
routing domain.

Additional Notes Tab

The Additional Notes tab of the IS-IS Management window contains the Notes area which is a text box 
that allows you to type in additional notes.
