Chapter 9 Software Management
QoS Management – Policy Map Configuration Window
The following is displayed on the QoS Management—Add Policy Map window:
Class Name:
–
Class Name Table—Lists the available class names.
–
Class Map Name—Displays the class map name associated with the selected class.
–
Type—Displays the class type.
Aggregate Policer:
–
Aggregate Enabled— Indicates whether or not an explicit policer is defined for the policy map
class. This enables QoS policing against Layer-3 switched traffic flows.
–
Named Aggregate—Unique string identifier of an aggregate policer on the device. This value is
nil if an explicit aggregate policer is defined within this policy map class. This is supported in
Native IOS only.
When a value is provided in the Named Aggregate field for Cisco Catalyst 4000 and 4500 series
devices, the Rate and Burst fields within the Aggregate Policer area are inactive.
–
Rate—Maximum transmission rate, in bits per second, to enforce against policed traffic. This
value is mandatory when defining an explicit policer. A value of 0 is returned on read if an
explicit policer is not defined for the policy map class.
–
Burst—Normal burst size, in bytes, in bytes to enforce against policed traffic. This value is
mandatory when defining an explicit policer. A value of 0 is returned on read if an explicit
policer is not defined for the policy map class.
Microflow Policer:
–
Microflow Enabled—Indicates whether or not a Microflow policer is defined for the policy map
class. This enables QoS policing against Layer 3 switched traffic flows. This attribute may have
one of the following values: true or false.
–
Rate—Maximum transmission rate, in bits per second, to enforce against policed traffic. This
value is mandatory when defining an explicit policer. A value of 0 is returned on read if an
explicit policer is not defined for the policy map class.
–
Burst—Normal burst size, in bytes, to enforce against policed traffic. This value is mandatory
when defining an explicit policer. A value of 0 is returned on read if an explicit policer is not
defined for the policy map class.
–
Add—Adds the Policy Map specified by Policy Map Name.
•
Remove Class—Removes one or more class map entries from a policy map. This also removes the
trust state and policers associated with the class map entries.
