Chapter 7 Module and Port Adapter Management
Ethernet Module Management Window
•
Daughter Card—The type of daughter card installed on the module. The possible values of this
attribute are:
– none—No card installed.
–
WS-F6KDFC—Distributed Forwarding Card for WS-X6516-GBIC module.
– WS-F6KVPWR—Inline Power Card.
–
unknown—Card installed is not one of the above.
• Hardware Version—The hardware version on the module.
•
Software Version—The software version on the module.
• Firmware Version—The firmware version on the module.
4k Details Tab
Note This tab is intended for use with Catalyst 4000 series switches. If you select a module within a device
other than a Catalyst 4000 series switch, the 4k Details tab is active but the fields do not display data.
Review the
Details Tab instead for information on modules within a device other than a Catalyst 4000
series switch.
The following areas are available on the Module Details tab of the Ethernet Module window:

Inventory
The Inventory area provides the following information:
• Description—Provides a description of the selected Ethernet module.
•
Serial Number—The serial number of the module.
• Model—Type of Ethernet module.
•
Software Version—The software version on the module.
• Hardware Version—The hardware version on the module.
• Firmware Version—The firmware version on the module.
Status
The Status area provides the following information:
• Operational Status—Displays the operational status of the Ethernet module. This attribute can have
one of the following values:
–
other—The status is unknown.
– ok—The status is normal.
–
minorFault—There is a minor problem.
– majorFault—There is a major problem.
