Chapter 8 Interface and Subinterface Management
GE-WAN Interface Management Window
This subdialog includes the following information:
–
Group Number—Indicates the HSRP group number.
Note
There may be multiple groups deployed on an interface. Using a group number on one
logical or physical interface does not preclude using it on another.
–
Secondary IP—Secondary IP address of HSRP group.
Add—Adds the secondary IP address entered in the corresponding field to the HSRP group.
Remove—Removes the secondary IP address entered in the corresponding field from the HSRP
group.
–
Virtual IP—Primary virtual IP address of the HSRP group. If this address is not configured, the
agent attempts to discover the virtual address through a discovery process which scans the hello
messages.
Modify—Modifies the virtual IP address entered in the corresponding field for the HSRP group.
Remove—Removes the virtual IP address entered in the corresponding field from the HSRP
group.
–
Preempt—If enabled, the current router attempts to overthrow a lower priority active router and
attempt to become the active router. If disabled, this router becomes the active router only if
there is no such router or the active router fails. A value of true indicates that preempt is enabled
and false indicates that preempt is disabled.
Modify—Modifies the preempt value according to the option selected from the corresponding
list box for the HSRP group.
–
Priority—Priority value that prioritizes a potential hot standby router. The range is 1 to 255,
where 1 indicates the lowest priority and 255 indicates the highest priority. The default priority
value is 100. The router in the HSRP group with the highest priority value becomes the active
router.
Modify—Modifies the priority value according to the entry in the corresponding field for the
HSRP group.
Default—Modifies the priority value, regardless of the entry in the corresponding field, to the
default priority value for the HRSP group.
–
Hello Interval—Hello interval in milliseconds. If this value is not configured, it can be learned
from the active router.
–
Hold Interval—Hold interval in milliseconds. If this value is not configured, it can be learned
from the active router.
Modify—Modifies the hello and/or hold values according to the entries in the corresponding
fields for the HSRP group.
Remove—Removes the hello and/or hold values entered in the corresponding fields from the
HSRP group.
