ATM/SONET Interface Management Window
Private VLAN Edge
The Private VLAN Edge area provides the following information:
• Status—Displays the status of private VLAN edge configuration on the interface. Status may be one
of the following values:
– Enabled
– Disabled
–
Not Applicable—VLANs are not supported on the device
• Enable—Enables configuration of the private VLAN edge on the interface.
• Disable—Disables configuration of the private VLAN edge on the interface.
Actions
The Actions area provides the following information:
•
Commission—This button is used to commission the object manually. This can only be done if the
object is in a decommissioned state. Clicking this button commissions the selected interface.
• Decommission—This button is used to decommission the object manually. In the decommissioned
state, the properties of the object are not monitored. As a result, data displayed in the configuration
window is not guaranteed to be current. Clicking this button decommissions the interface.
ATM/SONET Tab
The following areas are available on the Performance tab of the ATM/SONET Interface Management
window:
• ATM/SONET Configuration

SONET Medium Configuration
ATM/SONET Configuration
The ATM/SONET Configuration area contains the following information:
• Clock Source—Source of the transmit clock.
– loopTiming—Indicates that the recovered receive clock is used as the transmit clock.
– localTiming—Indicates that a local clock source is used or that an external clock is attached to
the box containing the interface.

SONET Framing—SONET framing for ATM cell transmission. The following values are possible:
– sts-3c—Synchronous Transport Signal level 3 concatenated is the SONET (N. American)
format that specifies the frame structure for a 155.52-Mbps line.
–
stm-1—Synchronous Transport Module level 1 is the SDH (European) format that specifies the
frame structure for a 155.52-Mbps line.
• NSAP Address—Unique identifier of node in ATM network. Required if not implemented by ATM
CM.
