As you type the text, it appears in the text entry area on the screen and the
carrier moves accordingly.
When you type a space or hyphen in the hot zone, the typewriter prints a
line o f text and the automatic carrier return takes place. The word typed
in the hot zone is wrapped around, allowing you to type other lines of
text. As a result, the text is justified. Note that pressing the
(R eturn) key does not cause the justification.
The following table shows the operating modes available in the TYPE mode.
Note that all the key functions do not work in the L/L and JUST modes because
these modes are available only for the simple text entry. We recommend that
you use these modes only to type text.
If you are in the special working statuses other than the normal typing status,
the O PERA TE key does not work; for example if you press the — » (Tab)
key to move the carrier to the decimal tab stop.
