Press the J , (C u rso r Down) key lo locate the cursor on the selection of

SELECT CF MODE.

Press the SPACEBAR to select the forward motion "Fore."

Pressing the SPACEBAR turns on and off the reverse motion. When the

indication "Fore & Back" appears, the paper insertion action includes

reverse feeding. When the indication "Fore" appears, the action does not
include reverse feeding.

Press the CODE + SET UP keys again to make the setting effective and

exit from the SET UP mode.

REM EMBER. ..Even if you don't select the reverse motion in the SET

UP

mode, the paper may automatically  reverse during typing or printing and  it  may
go out of the feeder.  This reverse action may lake place lo prevent a paper jam if
you press the reverse feed key such as the j  (Reverse  Index)  key or if the
reverse paper feed takes place to execute  the framing  function.

Operation

When finished with setting up the paper, turn on the typewriter anti press the

J;

(Paper Insert) key. The feeder automatically loads a sheet o f paper on demand.

When you press the ^ (P aper Insert) key, the feeder ejects the remaining sheet

and loads the next sheet into the typewriter.

If you want to type on different paper from the one set in the feeder, you don't

need to remove the feeder. Push and close the roller frame cover and eject the

remaining paper with the J (Index) key. Insert a new cut sheet into the slit
located right in front of the roller frame cover. Then you can load the new

paper with the (j; (Paper Insert) key. If you want to resume the Iced operation,
pull and open the roller frame cover again. The roller frame cover works like a

switch that turns the feeder on and off.
