The keyboard has alphanumeric keys and operation keys. Before you start
typing, you need to set line spacing, print impact, character pitch, and keyboard
type by some key operations.

Line Space Select Key
Line spacing is the amount the paper advances when you press the
(R eturn)
key. The line space select key labeled "LINE/IMP," is located on the left side
of the keyboard. Each time you press the LINE key, the line spacing cycles
through the following selections. Press the key until the desired indicator
lights.
This typewriter has two different line space modes: NORMAL and SPECIAL
modes. Although the NORMAL mode has been default set, the SPECIAL
mode can be selected by pressing the SPECIAL key. When the SPECIAL mode
is selected, the SP EC IA L indicator lights. Pressing the S P EC IA L key again
cancels the SPECIAL mode and returns to the NORMAL mode.

When you are working with a text file, note the following:
When you change the line spacing, a format symbol ( E ) appears in the
leftmost column at the beginning of paragraph.
The line spacing always appears single on the display and the actual line
count is shown on the status line on the upper line of the display.
REM EM BER...W hatever format is stored in the "0" format location becomes
the default format for the WP mode.
