Impact Select Key
You need to select the print impact according to the paper thickness and the
number of copies to be typed. The print impact means how strong the printing
mechanism impacts the character spoke of a daisy wheel against the ribbon and
paper.
The impact select key, labeled "LINE/IMP," is located on the left side of the
keyboard. While you press the CODE key, the IM P indicator flashes showing
the current impact setting. Each time you press the CODE + IM P keys, the
print impact cycles through the following selections. Press these keys until
the desired indicator flashes.

Pitch Select Key
You can select the character pitch. The pitch select key, labeled "PITCII/KB,"
is located on the left side of the keyboard. Each time you press the PITCH key,
the character pitch cycles through the following selections. Press the key until
the desired indicator lights.

When you are working with a text fde, note the following:
• When you change the character pitch, a format symbol ( E ) appears in the
leftmost column at the beginning of paragraph.
• The scale line on the upper line o f the display changes according to the
selected pitch.
• When you print out the file, printing stops where you change the pitch.
Replace the daisy wheel with the specified one. Press the CODE + 5
(PRIN T) keys to continue printing.
