Follow these steps:

Open a new text file in the WP mode for practice.

Type the following text intentionally including misspellings.
Collect the necesary materials and mail the
questionaire with them.

When finished with typing the text, move the cursor to any position of
the word "necesary" you want to check the spelling.
To specify the word you want to check the spelling, move the cursor to
the first character o f the destination word.

Press the CODE + SCAN C keys to activate the scan check function.
The typewriter starts checking the word.
When the typewriter does not find the word in the main and
supplemental dictionaries, it beeps and automatically enters the
Corrector Mode.
When the typewriter finds the word in the dictionaries, the message
appears to say that the specified word is correct and the typewriter
returns to the last working status.

Proceed to the section "Corrector Mode” to take some countermeasures.
Correct the word to "necessary" in the Corrector Mode.
When finished with correction, the typewriter returns to the last
working status.

Move the cursor to any position of the word "questionaire".

Press the CODE + SCAN C keys to activate the scan check function.
The typewriter starts checking the word.
When the typewriter does not find the word in the main and
supplemental dictionaries, it heeps and automatically enters the
Conector Mode.

Correct the word to "questionnaire" in the Corrector Mode.

Close the file.
Sometimes you want to suspend or quit the function before you complete it.
Pressing the ESC key resumes the previous step and pressing the CODE +
SCAN C keys cancels the function halfway.
