14.2.1
Changing the thread
Please take note of following sentences to ensure that thread unwinds
smoothly and properly:
•
Before changing the spool, always cut off the upper thread at the height
of the spool cap.
Cutting off the upper thread
•
Pull the thread that has been cu
t off slowly through the needle.
•
Before inserting a new spool, lift the presser foot so that the thread
channels are open. Incorrect operation leads to notches in the covering
of the thread take-up lever. Failure to follow the instructions may also
result in the upper thread jamming for no apparent reason.
•
Fasten the new spool by means of the spool cap. Take particular care
to place the spool cap firmly on the spool where it lies. To prevent the
thread from jamming or breaking, there must be no space between the
spool and the spool cap.
•
Always pull the upper and lower threads out to the left before starting to
sew. The thread must unwind smoothly and without jamming. This tip
must always be followed when sewing and embroidering.
