Cutting out the buttonhole
Carry out the following steps:
1.
Insert a pin crosswise on the inner edge of each of the front and rear bars
so that the stitches are not cut accidentally.
2.
Using a ripping knife or a pair of sharp W6 buttonhole scissors, cut open
the buttonhole.

Make an incision at the centre of the buttonhole and cut it open on
both sides up to the pins.

The buttonhole has been cut open.

99
Buttonhole Foot, Super-Stretch Needle 90 or 75
You can darn and bar-tack automatically by using the buttonhole foot.
Pattern Porgram 98 is particularly suited to reinforcing highly-stressed
points, such as trouser pockets. You can darn by using Pattern Program
99.
Select the following settings:
Darning and bar-tacking settings
W6 Tip
Programs 98 and 99:
Stitch length and stitch width cannot be changed.
Always place tear-away or self-adhesive W6 stabiliser under the fabric for
the purposes of stabilisation.
