Thread tension dial

The tension of the upper thread can be set on the

‹thread tension dial›

. In

normal use, set the thread tension dial to Value 4. As a rule, you will obtain
good results with this setting.

Upper thread tension dial

An upper thread tension symbol is located below the dial. If you turn the dial
to the left (anti-clockwise) to a lower value, the upper thread tension is
reduced. If you turn the dial to the right (clockwise) to a higher value, the
upper thread tension is increased.
