Checking the hook system
Prerequisite:

The needle plate has been removed.
Carry out the following steps:
1.
Remove the
‹hook race›
.
2.
Clean this area to remove sewing dust and pieces of thread using a
W6 cleaning brush.

You may also carefully clean the hook system by using a vacuum
cleaner.
3.
Check the black
‹hook race›
for needle strikes or damage.
!
Minor needle strikes on the
‹hook race›
can be removed by means
of fine emery paper (for example, 800-grit). The illustration below
shows an undamaged hook race.
