Powering Down the Server
This action activates the Locate Button/LED indicator LED on the server front panel. For other
options, see “Managing the Locate Button/LED” on page 120 .

Click OK.
6. Once at the service location, press the Locate Button/LED button to deactivate
the indicator.

7. Disconnect the four server power cords from the AC power block.
Caution - Data loss. Removing the power cords when the server is in Main power mode results
in an immediate shut down of the server. Do not remove the power cord if the server is in Main
power mode. Power off the server to Standby power mode first.
8. Set up an ESD-safe space at the service location.
Set up a space where you can set components. See “Performing Electrostatic Discharge and
Static Prevention Measures” on page 98 .
9. Perform service removal and installation procedures on components.

Powering Down the Server
Determine how you want to power down the server by reviewing the options in the following
table.
