Remove a Fan Frame

Remove a Fan Frame

The server has two fan frames which are accessible from the front of the server. Each frame

contains four fans. You need to remove the fan frame to access the CMODs behind it.

1.

Prepare the server for service. Choose one of the following methods:

■

Prepare the server for warm service.

Access CMODs behind the FMs using a warm-service procedure. See 

“Remove a

CMOD” on page 162

.

■

Prepare the server for cold service.

Access CMODs behind the FMs using a cold-service procedure. See 

“Remove a

CMOD” on page 162

.

2.

Remove the fans associated with the fan frame.

3.

To remove the fan frame, hold it by the green labels at the center of the frame

and pull it out of the server.
