Firmware
Firmware Update
Firmware Update is used to download application code to the reader.
Application code versions are specific to your reader. Consult with your sales represen-
tative before downloading application code. If needed, an application code will be sent
to you in the form of a
*.mot
file.
To download application code:
1. First make sure the host is connected to your reader.
2. Apply power to the reader.
3. In the
Firmware Update
pulldown window, select
App Code
.
This will open a file dialog box.
4. Navigate to the appropriate file (a
*.mot
file) and open the file.
5. Allow a minute or so for the firmware to download.
As application code begins to download to the reader, the reader will go silent, the
reader’s RDY and GD/RD LEDs will flash intermittently, and a progress indicator at the
bottom of the
ESP window will let you know when the download is complete.
Caution
: Do not interrupt power or disconnect the host cable while download is in
progress.
