Extraction Mode
Extraction by ESP
After selecting and entering the extracted portion or portions of a symbol, you can proceed
to
Insertion mode where user-selectable ASCII text can be inserted. You can perform up
to 100 instances of extraction and insertion for all symbols being scanned in the read cycle.

on page 13-8.
Usage:
Useful in scanning symbols in which only a portion or portions of the
symbol data needs to be transmitted and sorted.
Definition:
Selects a portion of the symbol data to be transmitted and ignores the
rest.

1. Click
Read
Symbol
. This
will display in
the current
symbol data
under
Original.
2. Select text to be
extracted.
3. Click
Extract
4. Click
Apply
or proceed with
additional extractions and
insertions.
5. Click
Test.
The extracted selected text
will appear in this field.
Note: When you click
Apply
,
Symbol
#1 in Symbol Output Format Status
window will automatically be enabled.
