Insertion Mode
Insertion by ESP
Up to 4 ASCII characters can be inserted at any point in symbol input and added to the
output. After scanning a symbol and selecting the original characters for extraction, as
shown in
"Extraction by ESP"
on page 13-4, do the following:
Usage:
Useful in adding designators or separators to add meaning or content to
data in applications where symbol data needs to be sorted.
Definition:
Inserts up to four characters at a time into a data output string. You can
add additional characters by repeating the procedure.
Output Format Insertion
2. Type in text to be inserted or
select ASCII character from
the
ASCII selector and click
OK
.
This will append the insertion
to the end of the extracted
data under
Format.
You can now add
another extraction
from the original
followed by an
insertion and
another extraction
in any sequence
that you want it to
appear upon output.
3. Click on
Apply
when all insertions
and extractions are
completed.
4. Click on
Test
to see
resulting output.
1. Click
Insert.
