Problems with accessing the Matrox Iris portal website 241
C Ping fails. Open a
command prompt
window on your
computer, start telnet,
and ping your Matrox
Iris GT (for example:
Ping 169.254.1.12). "Destination host
unreachable." There
was no reply.
OR
"Reply from
169.254.1.12:
Destination host
unreachable." What
replies is not what you
addressed. This
implies that you are
still connected to a
network. 1. If you did not deselect DHCP (see item A), wait 5
minutes for DHCP to time-out and try to ping your
Matrox Iris GT again.
2. Verify the number of active network or wireless
connections using the
Network Connections utility
(accessible from the Windows Control Panel). More
than one active connection can cause problems
communicating with your Matrox Iris GT.
3. Disable all network or wireless connections except
for the one connected to your Matrox Iris GT.
4. Reboot your Matrox Iris GT and your computer.
5. Try to ping your Matrox Iris GT again.
Chapter 3: Configuring

work on a network

D Your Firewall utility
blocks the ping from

A dialog box might
appear describing that
a ping or ICMP
command was
blocked. Enable file sharing using the Firewall utility (accessible
from the Windows Control Panel). This opens port 445
on the firewall and allows ping echoes to occur.
E FullRescue utility fails
on a computer within a
workgroup network
environment. "Unable to connect to
file server resource."

"Error finding file

1. Do not use the Enable LMHOSTS lookup option of
the WINS configuration on your computer since this
prevents your Matrox Iris GT from seeing subfolders
inside of a shared folder.
2. Shared folders must be named with the same name
as the folder itself.
3. When changing from a domain into a workgroup, do
not reuse shared folders. Instead create new shared
folders, as necessary.
4. From your Matrox Iris GT, ping the shared folder on
your development computer
(
\\MyComputer\IrisGTRescue
) to verify that the firewall
of the development computer does not prevent the
Matrox Iris GT to reach the selected shared rescue
folder.
• If the ping fails, modify your firewall software to
allow the connection.
