Administration utility page 217
Network settings page
The
Network settings
page includes configuring login access to your LAN, as well
as securing the Matrox Iris GT web server, sharing folders via the Matrox Iris GT
file server, configuring the telnet server, the FTP server, the SMTP (Simple Mail
Transfer Protocol) client, and password protecting your Matrox Iris portal website.
❖
Note that changing the security settings of one or more of the network settings
on your Matrox Iris GT does not affect any already-opened connections with a
client application. To assure that the new security settings are being used, close all
connections to client applications before changing the security settings.
General network settings page
The
General network settings
page allows you to set your default authentication
domain. This is used to provide NT LAN Manager authentication for the web
server. Refer to the
Web server settings
page.
❖
Note that, when setting the default authentication domain name, you must
connect your Matrox Iris GT to a LAN that has a primary domain controller for
authentication purposes. If you intend to change your network to a peer-to-peer
connection with a computer, clear the default authentication domain before
disconnecting from the DHCP network.
Field name
Description
Matrox Iris GT default authentication domain
Specifies the name of the domain controller of the NTLM security service provider used for
authentication. Microsoft Windows CE uses domains to manage access to a set of network
resources (for example, drives, applications and printers) for a group of users. The user logs
into the domain to gain access to all the resources of that domain, many of which can be
located on a number of different servers in the network.
Note that NTLM requires a valid authentication domain to function.
