TCP/IP settings page
The
TCP/IP
settings
page allows you to set or modify existing IP synchronization
and TCP/IP settings.
•
IP Synchronization settings
. Changes the IP synchronization settings for your
Matrox Iris GT.
•
TCP/IP settings
. Changes the TCP/IP settings for your Matrox Iris GT.
Field name
Description
Enable synchronization to valid IP reception
Specifies whether IP synchronization is enabled.
Note that, if enabled, the Matrox Iris GT startup time will be longer than usual to allow
reception of valid IP addresses when DHCP is enabled.

Enables changes made in the
IP synchronization settings
section of the
TCP/IP
page.
Field name
Description
Enable usage of DHCP
Specifies whether dynamic host configuration protocol (DHCP) is enabled for automatic IP
address assignment.
Note that if DHCP is enabled, the other fields on this page cannot be modified.
DHCP maximum request retry count
Specifies the maximum number of times your Matrox Iris GT will try to get an IP address from
the specified DHCP server. When this count is exceeded, your Matrox Iris GT will enter Auto IP
mode, if enabled.
Static IP address
Specifies the static IP address of your Matrox Iris GT. Note that this value can only be
changed if DHCP is disabled.
Static IP subnet mask
Specifies the static bit mask used to identify which bits in the IP address correspond to the
subnet portion of the address. Note that this value can only be changed if DHCP is disabled.
Primary DNS address under static IP mode
Specifies the IP address of the first domain name server (DNS) that your Matrox Iris GT
should query to convert names to IP addresses for network devices. This IP address is
important when your Matrox Iris GT does not use DHCP. When using DHCP, you cannot set
your DNS.
Secondary DNS address under static IP mode
Specifies the IP address of an alternate domain name server (DNS) that your Matrox Iris GT
should query to convert names to IP addresses for network devices. when DHCP is disabled.
Note that if DHCP is enabled, this field is not used.
Primary WINS server under static IP mode
Specifies the IP address of the first Windows internet naming server (WINS) used to translate
computer names into IP addresses when DHCP is disabled. Note that if DHCP is enabled, this
field is not used.
Secondary WINS server under static IP mode
Specifies the IP address of an alternate Windows internet naming server (WINS) used to
translate computer names into IP addresses when DHCP is disabled. Note that if DHCP is
enabled, this field is not used.
