Identification settings page
The Identification settings page provides additional information so that users can
better differentiate one Matrox Iris smart camera from another.
Field name Description
Network name Specifies the network name of your Matrox Iris GT. If automatic naming (refer to the Enable
automatic network name generation field, described below) is enabled, this name can be used
to identify your Matrox Iris GT on the network. If automatic naming is disabled, the static name
will be used instead.
Static network name Specifies the static network name of your Matrox Iris GT. If automatic naming is disabled, the
static name can be used to identify your Matrox Iris GT on the network. If automatic naming is
enabled, the network name is used instead.
Note that when changing the name of your Matrox Iris GT, the name must be unique in your
network configuration.
Enable automatic network name generation Specifies whether the automatically generated name for the Matrox Iris GT should be used. This
ensures that each Matrox Iris GT on your network has a unique name. The default network name
is IRISnnnnnn, where nnnnnn represents the last 6 digits (3 bytes) of your Matrox Iris’s MAC
address.
Note that both the MAC address and the automatic network name of your Matrox Iris are written
on stickers, on your Matrox Iris.
Owner name Specifies the name of the owner of your Matrox Iris GT. This information is displayed on the
Essential information page.
Owner company Specifies the name of the company that owns your Matrox Iris GT. This information is displayed
on the
Essential information page.
Owner address Specifies the address of the owner (person or company) of your Matrox Iris GT. Use this field to
further customize the identity of your Matrox Iris GT. This information is displayed on the
Essential information page.
Owner comments Specifies comments to better identify your Matrox Iris GT on the network.
Description Specifies a description of your Matrox Iris GT. This information is displayed on the Essential
information page.
Button name Description
Update identification settings Updates the Identification settings page. These changes will take effect immediately.
