Appendix H: Matrox Iris GT utilities
Connect utility
The Connect utility creates a map between a specified name and either an external
file, server, or shared resource. The specified name will appear as a folder under
the Network virtual folder on your Matrox Iris GT.
Syntax
Parameters
•
Type
. Specifies the type of mapping to create. Possible values are:

SAVECRED
. Creates the mapping and saves the connection information
(including your user name, password, and domain) in the registry.
-
NOTCRED
. Tests the availability of the connection. The folder will not be
mapped nor will the connection information be saved in the registry. This
setting cannot be used in conjunction with the
MapName
parameter.

MAP.
Creates the mapping without storing an associated user name, password,
and domain in the registry. This setting can be used in conjunction with the
MapName
and
Resource
parameters.

QUIT
. Specifies that you are quitting the utility.

UserName
. Specifies the user name for this connection.
•
Password
. Specifies the password associated to the user name for this connection.
•
Domain
. Specifies the domain of the user account.
•
MapName
. Specifies the name for the connection. A folder is created with this
name in the
\Network
folder of your Matrox Iris GT.
•
Resource
. Specifies the network path of the resource to which to map.
