File server page
The
File server
page contains configuration options to configure, add, and modify
shared folders on your Matrox Iris GT.
•
General settings
. Returns the total number of bytes read and written through the
file system, as well as specifies the name of your Matrox Iris GT workgroup name
and whether file server authentication is enabled or disabled.
•
Add new shared folder
. Specifies the information required to share a folder with
your Matrox Iris GT file server.
Field name
Description
Total number of bytes read
Returns the number of bytes read by clients thought the operating system’s file server.
Total number of bytes written
Returns the number of bytes written by clients through the operating system’s file server.
File server Workgroup name association
Specifies the group of workstations and servers on a LAN that your Matrox Iris GT file server
should join. The default is WORKGROUP.
Enable file server authentication
Enables or disables file server authentication. When enabled, NT LAN Manager (NTLM)
authentication will be used. NTLM is the Windows NT Challenge/Response authentication
protocol.
Note that if enabled, a valid domain name must be set on the
General network settings
page.

page. Note that the operating system must be restarted for changes to
take effect.
Field name
Description
Share name
Specifies the unique name used to identify the folder. This is the name that will be visible to users.
Folder path
Specifies the physical (true) folder location of the specified shared folder. A full path (including the first back slash) must be
included.
Allowed users
Specifies the users that can see and use this shared folder. Multiple entries must be separated by a semicolon (;). Use @* to
allow all users access and @[group_name] to allow all users of a particular group access (for example, @Administrators or
@PowerUsers).

Adds the shared folder. To view the shared folder, refer to the
Chapter 5: Accessing Matrox Iris GT
. Note that the operating system must be restarted for changes to take effect.
