Iris GT FTP server.
Button name
Description
Update telnet settings

effect.
Field name
Description
Enable FTP server
Specifies whether the FTP server should be enabled.
Enable authentication by FTP server
Specifies whether the FTP server will perform authentication. User names and passwords are sent via
TCP/IP in plain text. The FTP server will try to identify the given user name and password first with
basic authentication and then again with NTLM. If it cannot identify the user name and password,
access is denied.
File Transfer Protocol (FTP) is not, by its nature, secure. Allowing FTP grants users the ability to upload
and download files through a simple interface. FTP should never be used to send secure files
unencrypted across a network if security is an issue. On a LAN, this is far less important than on an
extranet (like the Internet) due to the number of possible users involved.
Allow anonymous access
Specifies if users can access the contents on the FTP server with the user name of anonymous. The
password of an anonymous user is logged, but not verified. Restricting anonymous access is always a
good idea on a secure network. When using FTP anonymously, a user name of Anonymous and a
password of the user’s account is expected.
Allow anonymous upload
Specifies if anonymous users can send files to the FTP server.
Files uploaded from anonymous users are not secure. This should not be allowed on a secure network.
Default FTP server folder
Specifies where FTP files should be stored on your Matrox Iris GT. Note that the folder name should
start with a back-slash (\) and not include any subfolders.
Folder to store FTP log file
Specifies where the FTP log file should be stored on your Matrox Iris GT. Note that the folder name
should start with a back-slash (\) and not include any subfolders
Maximum FTP server log files size
Specifies the maximum file size of the FTP log file. Once the FTP log file reaches this size, the contents
will begin to be overwritten.
List of allowed users
Specifies the users that can see and use FTP. Note that this list is used only when authentication is
enabled. Multiple entries must be separated by a semicolon (;). Use @* to allow all users access and
@[group_name] to allow all users of a particular group access (for example, @Administrators or
@PowerUsers).
