Precautions against corrosion
If the jet unit is exposed to salt spray, corrosion is likely to become a problem.
HamiltonJet recommends the following precautions:

Liberally grease rod ends and linkages with water resistant grease.

Wrap anti corrosion tape (e.g. Nippon Denso) around the hydraulic fittings.

Hydraulic fittings manufactured from stainless steel are available from HamiltonJet.

Protect the blue ARROW modules and connectors from contact with water and water spray, especially
saltwater by using appropriate shields or covers.

Do not allow water to accumulate on the modules and connectors.

Control input devices & station control panels can be mounted on exposed wing stations, but these
should be protected from immersion, spray and direct sunlight.
Engine start interlock by-pass
In the unlikely event of a complete control system failure, the engine start interlock will
prevent the engine from starting.
This will leave a single jet vessel with no means of propulsion.
A bypass switch must be fitted across the engine start interlock relay to allow the engine to start.
Alternatively, a relay with a manually lockable test option (for example, Omron MY2IN ) can be used as the
engine start interlock relay.
Refer to the appropriate engine schematics for details.
This bypass switch is optional for twin jet vessels.
