JETanchor control module
The JETanchor control module incorporates an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), which means the module
must be correctly orientated with the vessel's axes.
The module should be installed:
Near the midship point between bow and stern. A variation up to +/- 25% of vessel length from the
midship point is acceptable.
Near the vessel's centre line between port and starboard. A variation up to +/- 25% of the vessel width is
acceptable.
Vertically no higher than the wheelhouse console and preferably between the main deck level and the
waterline (within these limits, lower is better).
Aligned within the vessel in one of the orientations shown in the following figure.
Aligned with each of the vessel's axes as accurately as possible. Alignment /- 2 degrees yields
good performance, but /- 5 degrees is acceptable.
Clear of equipment and cables that may generate strong magnetic fields.
Away from high vibration areas. Rubber mounts (not provided) may be used to reduce vibration.
In an easily accessible location.
Where there is sufficient clearance around the module to allow cable access and connection.
Contact your local HamiltonJet representative for advice if it is necessary to mount the JETanchor control
module outside of these criteria.
The following figure shows the six allowable orientations for mounting the JETanchor control module.
During commissioning the orientation parameter must be entered into the blue ARROW system, using the
Support Tool. JACM parameters are described later in this manual (
►
page 8-57).

Relocating or re-orientating the JETanchor control module (JACM) or GPS antenna after the
commissioning process can cause vessel control stability issues when JETanchor is
engaged. If the JETanchor control module or GPS antenna is moved or re-orientated after
commissioning, the JETanchor commissioning procedure must be repeated.
