8.
Re-enter your new password
9.
Logout by pressing the END key followed by the ENT key
10. The factory setting password has now been successfully changed
What are the LUI and remote factory setting passwords?
The LUI factory passwords for the different privilege levels are:
•
789. (master)
•
456. (actions)
•
123. (settings)
Note: the period is part of the password.
The LUI passwords stored in the relay may be viewed, in encoded format, via remote communications. The remote factory
passwords for the different privilege levels are
•
master! (master)
•
actions! (actions)
•
setting! (setting)
•
view! (view)
The remote passwords stored in the relay may be viewed, in encoded format, via the LUI.
Why can’t I communicate with the relay using ALPS-Link?
If you are unable to communicate with the ALPS relay using ALPS-Link, perform the following checks:
•
Verify the ALPS-Link program is selected for the comm port you are using on your PC or laptop
•
Verify the cable you are using is a null modem cable
•
Verify the protocol of the relay comm port you are using is set for GE-Modem. Note: rear port PL2A is factory set for
ASCII.
•
Verify the unit ID, baud rate, stop bits, and parity settings of the relay comm port you are using to match with the set-
tings in the device setup for the ALPS-Link session.
What would I do if the ALPS gives a red LED status indication?
If the ALPS relay displays a red LED status, prompt the relay for failure messages. Press the information key (INF) and
select Status. Scroll down the list and write the failure messages of the relay. Protection is not active when the Status LED
is red. This condition could indicate a critical failure: contact GE.
