Inserting/Removing the microSD card
Insert/Remove a microSD card while the power is off.

Open the cap of the microSD card
slot

Insert the microSD card into the
microSD card slot and push it
until it locks into the place
Insert the microSD card straight and slowly with
the metal contacts side down.
When fully inserted, the card is locked in the
place.

To remove the card
When you push the microSD card in and
release, the card pops up slightly.
* Note that the card may fly out of the slot.
Grip the groove of the microSD card and slowly
pull the card out.

When you turn on the power after inserting the
microSD card, “
” appears.
Folder structure in a microSD Card
When you copy data from the FOMA terminal to a
microSD card, folders are created as shown in
Table 1 (p.326) and the data are saved to the
corresponding folders. The folder names and file
names are set automatically as shown in Table 1.

When transferring data from a PC to a microSD
card, use the same folder structure and file names
as shown in
Table 1
(p.326).

Do not insert or remove the microSD card while
the power is on. Doing so may damage the
microSD card or the card data.
z
Note that the microSD card may eject from the
slot when inserted or removed.
z
When you remove the microSD card, make sure
to keep the card in the supplied protective case.
You may not be able to use the microSD card if
the card is kept in another protective case.
z
Make sure to insert or remove the microSD card
straight in the right direction (inserting the
microSD card at an angle may damage the card).
z
It may take long to read or write data for the first
time after the microSD card is inserted.

When copying multiple data to the SD_PIM folder,
the data are automatically titled as year/month/
day/hour/minute (yyyy/mm/dd hh:mm).
z
You can save a moving picture with video from a
PC to the MMFILE folder, but cannot play the
moving picture on the FOMA terminal.
z
A file edited on a PC then saved to the microSD
card may not be displayed or played correctly on
the FOMA terminal if you use characters different
from the folder/file names shown in
Table 1
(p.326).
z
When the SDVIDEO.DAT, MMFILE.DAT or
DCIM.DAT file is deleted from the microSD card,
the settings of the destination folder may be
released or changed. In this case, reset the
setting of “Select to save”.
z
Do not delete or move folders in the microSD card
on a PC. The FOMA terminal may not be able to
read the microSD card.
z
Data saved from another device to the microSD
card may not be able to be displayed or played on
the FOMA terminal. Also, data saved from the
FOMA terminal to the microSD card may not be
able to be displayed or played on another device.
z
Before purchasing a microSD reader/writer or PC
card adapter, check with the manufacturer for the
microSD card operations supported by the FOMA
terminal.
