Deleting text
Use

to move the cursor to the character you want
to delete, and press

briefly (less than 1 second).
A character to the right of cursor is deleted.

When there is no character in the right side of
cursor position
A character to the left of the cursor is deleted.
■ If you hold down

for 1 second or longer
All characters to the right of the cursor are deleted.
■ If you hold down

for 1 second or longer
when there is no character to the right of the
cursor
All characters are deleted.
Entering common phrases

Depending on the input mode, the pre-installed
fixed common phrases are entered in kanji/
hiragana or single-byte katakana.

Entering text by quoting the
phonebook or My Profile
On the text entry (edit) screen for mail, site or text
memo, you can quote the “Phonebook”/“My Profile”
data.
● Using the quote data function
z
You can quote Name, Reading, Phone number,
Mail address, Address, Positioning info, Birthday,
Memorandums, i-concier address, i-concier URL
and i-concier memo.
z
Data cannot be quoted on some text entry (edit)
screens.

Previously entered pictograms appear in the first
line of the Pictogram and Deco-mail pictogram
(Pictograph D) screens respectively.

You can enter symbols while the Pictograms
screen is displayed. The list switches each time

You can activate PI

SB input mode by pressing

(PI ・ SB) after displaying the Pictograms
screen.
<CHG input method>

On the text entry (edit) screen for specific items
such as postal codes, it may not be possible to
switch the text entry method.
<T9 Kana CHG mode/T9 Kanji CHG mode>
z
This setting is valid only for the current text entry
(edit) screen. The next time the text entry (edit)
screen appears, the conversion mode reverts to
the “T9 change mode” setting.

Common phrases can be used on the following
text entry (edit) screens:

• i-mode mail subject/main text
• i-mode mail header/signature/quotation mark
• Enter mail search subject

If you enter a common phrase on the Password
input screen, the entered characters are displayed
as “
＊ ”.

If you select a common phrase in the security
folder, the common phrase linked to the title is
entered instead of the title name.
