Starting Osaifu-Keitai i-

Start the Osaifu-Keitai i-
α
ppli from the Software list
screen. The useful Osaifu-Keitai i-
α
ppli enables
e-money charge, balance inquires and usage history
confirmation on the mobile phone by reading or
writing data in the IC card.
z
Be careful not to let others know your PIN and
service passwords.
z
Read/Write operations between i-
α
ppli and the IC
card are interrupted in the following cases. In this
case, the read/written data is discarded.
Operations to perform after you finish talking vary
depending on the service.
• A call arrives while i-
α
ppli is active
• The battery runs out
z
FOMA card information and the IC card are linked
when the Osaifu-Keitai compatible i-
α
ppli is first
downloaded to or launched. Hereafter, the IC card
function is not available if the appropriate FOMA
card (UIM) is not inserted.
If replacing with other FOMA card (UIM), the iC
card function is not available unless you delete the
Osaifu-Keitai i-
α
ppli (Reset IC owner) once.

Using Osaifu-Keitai
By holding the
e
mark printed on the FOMA
terminal over the reader/writer unit, you can make
payments with e-money or utilize as tickets. This
function can be used without starting i-
α
ppli.
z
Osaifu-Keitai i-
α
ppli cannot activate while you are
talking on the phone, but you can hold up the
e
mark to the reader/writer and use the Osaifu-Keitai
function.

service you want
When using Osaifu-Keitai, notification is
performed by Incoming call lamp and Vibrator
according to the setting of “IC card notice set”.

Even when the power is turned off or the battery
runs out, the IC card function is available by
waving up the
e
mark up to the reader/writer.
(Osaifu-Keitai i-
α
ppli cannot be activated.) The
function may not be available, however, if you do
not use the battery pack for a long time or leave
the battery uncharged after the battery alert
activates. Charge the battery.

When waving the
e
mark to the reader/writer,
do not expose the FOMA terminal to strong
shocks.
z
If the
e
mark is not recognized, try waving the
phone in different directions.
z
The Osaifu-Keitai i-
α
ppli may be activated when
you wave the
e
mark over the reader/writer.
