Device Discovery Overview

After you have deployed AirWave on the network, the next step is to discover all existing devices connected to your
network.

AirWave allows device discovery in the following ways, all of which are described in the sections that follow:

SNMP/HTTP discovery scanning

—This is the primary method to discover devices on your network, configured

in the

Device Setup > Discover

page. See

Cisco Discovery Protocol (CDP)

—AirWave enhances support for CDP by discovering a Cisco device’s CDP
